Comrades, Sisters, and Brothers,

The Holidays are upon us. We
are unable to get the print edition of
the December newsletter out before Thanksgiving, but if
you catch this on the website, please join us for a free
Thanksgiving Dinner for all our VFW family and community.

A big thank you to many folks, many of whom
are addressed later in this newsletter. We appreciate all
our volunteers and will have a volunteer appreciation
dinner for all of them.

Voice of Democracy, Patriot’s Pen, and Youth
Essay entries were received and judged. Thank you to
Karen, Jake, Nick, & Paul for doing the judging. Next
year we will have earlier training. Anyone who would
like to judge these essays, please contact the Youth
Chairmen during the summer next year.

We had 3 Voice of Democracy entries, 14
Patriot’s Pen entries, and about 25 youth essays.
Awards ceremony will be in January. Anyone can come
to show your appreciation to these scholars.

We have a bowling team on Wednesday
(noon)and Sunday evening that need 2 members for the
rest of the year. 2 members (a veteran and his wife)
were hurt in an auto accident and will be unable to bowl
before this summer. If interested, you can contact me or
Paul or let the League Secretary know both are at Lilac
Lanes. You do not need to bowl on both teams.

Rifle and gun safe raffle was drawn. The winner
was Anne Carl and her husband. Thank you to all who
purchased tickets.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy
New Year,

Mike Fagan

To all American Veterans,

On behalf of everyone at DrivePath and the VFW Website Solution Program, we extend our deepest gratitude to the brave men and women who have worn the uniform of our nation. Your service, commitment, and sacrifice form the steadfast foundation upon which our freedoms are built. Each of you has given more than most could ever imagine - time, strength, and, in many cases, pieces of yourselves - to defend the liberties that define the American way of life. It is because of your courage and resolve that we live in a nation where opportunity, peace, and independence are not just ideals, but realities sustained by your unwavering dedication.

We recognize that the comfort and safety with which we live each day are made possible by your vigilance and valor. Each night, as we rest beneath the blanket of freedom you so honorably protect, we are reminded that our nationā?Ts strength lies in the selflessness of those who serve. From all of us at DrivePath and the VFW Website Solution Program, thank you for your service, your perseverance, and the example you set for generations to come. May you always know how deeply your sacrifices are valued and remembered.

Hillyard VFW Post & Auxiliary 1474 Thanks all our Nation's Veterans on this Veterans Day 2025 For Your Service!
