Your VFW Membership dues support our organization and auxiliaries on the National, State (Department) and Local levels. The funds support our charitable work and Community services, Veterans advocacy, benefits, emergency aid, scholarships, Patriotic Duties and Ceremonies and much more!

Each members dues fees are divided between their local VFW Post or Auxiliary, VFW Post or Auxiliary Department (State) and National VFW Post and Auxiliary.  The funds are allocated to a variety of programs and community services at each VFW level. The allocation of the funds is transparent and can be found in our Non-Profit tax filings which are Public Records.

VFW Post and Auxiliary1474 is a private "Members Only" Institution, so the majority of our operating hours are not open to the public. Member's meetings and Board meetings are also always private and "Members Only".

We have multiple functions throughout the year that ARE open to the public. Those dates are always advertised in advance and are an opportunity for our Post and Auxiliary members to engage with the public and our local neighborhoods. These events are part of our commitment to Community Service and to educate the public about the VFW, who we are, and what we do. Community engagement is mutually beneficial to us as an organization, our members, our local community members, organizations and businesses.

*It is important to note, that while our "Club" is private, our Veteran and Community Services are always Open to the public.

Our Auxiliary serves breakfast every Sunday from 9:00-11:00, before the Club opens and is open to the public. We have some Bingo sessions that are open to the public. Our Free Community Food Pantry is open to the public every Thursday by appointment. Our Event Center is open to the public for specific events and is available to the public to rent for private parties and events. Other Veterans groups like American Legion are able to enjoy our Club and Facilities. And during operational Club hours, our members are allowed to "sign in" guests.

Non-operational Club hours are used by the public, private parties and events, memorials, ceremonies, town halls, public speakers, fundraisers, Boys and Girls Scouts, Neighborhood Committees, etc.

Yes, they are, under restrictions. They are, of course, always allowed in anytime the Canteen is not open, except when the Club is closed or private meetings are in session. They, or the public, are not allowed in during private meetings. When the Canteen is open, they are allowed in until 9:00PM, so long as they do not approach the area around the bar and are accompanied by their parents or guardians.
