Karen Flynn – President, VFW Auxiliary #1474
"My name is Karen Flynn, and I proudly hail from the state of Washington. I joined the VFW Auxiliary in 1978, inspired by my father’s service in the U.S. Army during World War II. From the moment I became a member, I was entrusted with leadership—elected as Jr. Vice President of our Auxiliary, which at the time had over 600 members. I’ve been a life member ever since, actively involved for 47 years.
Over the decades, I’ve had the honor of serving in numerous roles, including:
-
Auxiliary President (9 terms)
-
District President (2 terms)
-
Department President
-
14th District Council Member
-
National Chief of Staff
-
National Americanism Director
-
Director for Cancer Aid and Research
-
Western Conference Chair for Membership
Currently, I serve as Department Chief of Staff, supporting Auxiliaries across our state. I’ve also chaired many committees and led nearly every program at both the Auxiliary and Department levels.
Outside of my Auxiliary work, I’m a proud mother and grandmother. My daughter, son-in-law, and two grandsons (ages 17 and 21) are incredibly supportive. I spent 30 years working for the Wenatchee School District as a Technology Support Specialist before retiring.
I deeply believe in the power of teamwork. As we move forward this year, I’m committed to fostering collaboration among our members and strengthening our partnership with the Post. Together, we can accomplish great things.
